JCXP Rules and Guidelines

1. About These Guidelines
These guidelines govern your use of JCXP Forums. If you do not agree to these guidelines, you may not join or use this board. These rules are open to staff interpretation, and all administrative decisions are final. While disciplinary actions listed here are usually taken, staff may decide on different measures. If you believe you have been punished unfairly, please contact an administrator for an appeal. These guidelines do not necessarily represent the views of JCXP staff, merely what we have deemed acceptable as standards for a professional and public forum.

2. General
You may not post any material on JCXP Forums that is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of privacy, or otherwise violative of any law. You may not post copyrighted material unless you or this board owns the copyright, or if you have secured permission from the copyright holder, and you can reproduce it on demand. You may not swear excessively or bypass any swear filters in use on the site. You may not discuss or promote the use of illegal drugs or other controlled substances.

3. Warez, ROMs, Cracks, Serials, and Keygens.
You may not link to, provide advice on finding, or make topics about any kind of warez, ROMs, cracks, serials, or keygens. You may also not provide links to download pirated ISO or other CD/DVD images. Discussions about BitTorrent and peer-to-peer(P2P) are allowed.

4. Inappropriate Content.
You may not post or link to any material that would be considered above the PG-13 or TV-14 levels. Pornography, shocking material (including shock, disturbing, or other scare sites), other obscene content, violence, and anything else not appropriate for children of the age of 13 may not be posted. According to United States law, children under the age of 13 may not join forums without parental consent. Parents, this site may contain material unsuitable for children under the age of 13.

5. Avatars and Signatures
Your avatar and signature may not contain any of the inappropriate content listed above. You avatar should not exceed the size of 128x128 and your signature should not exceed the size of 500x200. Your avatar and signature should not be distracting, or detract from the JCXP user experience. Staff reserve the right to request any member to change/remove their avatar or signature. Advertising in your avatar and signature is limited by the terms in the following section.

6. Advertising
You may not make any post advertising your web site, band, company, or services anywhere on JCXP Forums. You may not sell advertising space inside your avatar and signature. You may link to your personal web site/blog or company site in your signature and profile, but you may not place links to other forums, prohibited content, or referral links anywhere on the site or in your own signature. Any links to your personal site should not be distracting (too large, annoying red, bold color, etc...). Links to the following do not count as advertisement: MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, DeviantArt, and other social networking sites.

7. Spam
You may not post advertisements on the forum, as limited by the terms above. You may go slightly off-topic in a forum post, as long as your post contains on-topic content as well. You may be off-topic as you like in the provided off-topic sections. You may not double-post, make useless posts, or bump old topics unnecessarily.

8. Spelling and Grammar
(This section does NOT apply to the off-topic sections)
This is an English-speaking forum, and all topics and posts must be in English. Please at least try to use correct spelling and grammar, avoid use of all-caps, excessive punctuation, and unnecessarily annoying colors.

9. Courtesy
Please be kind and courteous to other members and staff. Trolling, flaming, racism, rude comments, and abuse will not be tolerated.

10. Staff
Please respect the staff, as described in the sections above. All staff decisions are final, and administrative decisions may override this document. If you have a suggestion about the forum, please post it in the appropriate suggestions section. If you have an immediate concern, please send it to an administrator via the Personal Messenger system. If you see a topic that breaks the rules, please do not attempt to handle it yourself, but instead alert the staff using the report system.

11. Personal Messenger (PM) System
You may not send prohibited content, offensive content, or spam via the Personal Messenger (PM) system. PM spam is extremely annoying, and it will be dealt with immediately. These rules also apply to e-mail messages sent through the board.

12. Multiple Accounts
You may not register multiple accounts. If we discover a user has possession of more than one account, the newer accounts will be deleted and your first account will be suspended.

13. Monthly Desktop Threads
Please keep your desktops to a PG-13 level. If it contains nudity, mild violence, or other slightly inappropriate content, please do not post it directly, but post a link to it, along with a warning that it may be inappropriate. Absolutely NO pornography, blood and gore, or other obscene content is allowed.
